Fabric, first

Four fabrics. Chosen, not claimed.

Every fabric has a distinct feel, texture and role in the working uniform. Explore the details behind each piece below.

01

Core Ease

A dense micro-weave knit chosen for four-way give, drape and a clean matte surface. The everyday essential.

02

Forma Micro

A micro-striped weave that adds quiet texture and a distinct visual choice within the first drop.

03

Aurum Flex

A fine-ribbed Lycra blend with natural mechanical stretch. It keeps its line through long shifts.

04

Soma Layer

Lyocell fibers derived from wood. Lenzing describes them as offering high moisture uptake and next-to-skin softness. Our underscrub base layer.

Science-informed development

Evidence over hype.

For us, “science-based” means a repeatable development process with user feedback, measurable tests and transparent specifications. Not unsupported medical language.

Step 01

Fit

We test reach, bend, sit and pocket use with doctors across common sizes. After fit review, we lock sizing measurements and tolerances.

Step 02

Material

We confirm composition, GSM, stretch and recovery, opacity, shrinkage, pilling and colorfastness against supplier specification sheets.

Step 03

Wear

Sample wear trials assess comfort, mobility, durability and wash performance. Structured doctor feedback shapes the next product brief.

Gear & Gown printed inside-neck label. Designed for the work that matters.

Considered details

Refined practicality, down to the label.

A professional appearance and working function are not opposites. Every garment in the first drop carries the same quiet standards.

A note from Gear & Gown

“Our point of view is simple: a long shift deserves more from a uniform. We are building scrubs that clinicians choose for comfort, confidence and performance, not simply because they are required.”
